33 Dr. Tracy Oliver earned both her Master of Arts and PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She founded a robust clinical practice in South Florida, providing counseling for individuals and couples dealing with relationship issues, grief, human trafficking, domestic violence and more. Throughout her career, she volunteered to facilitate clinical groups at her alma mater, Nova Southeastern University. In early 2016, Dr. Oliver made a stronger commitment to teaching by becoming a professor at NCU. She teaches foundations courses and facilitates clinical supervision groups. "I've always enjoyed the field of education as a student–and hoped to have the opportunity to become an educator," said Dr. Oliver. "The time my teachers invested in me made a difference, and contributed to who I am today. I hope to give the same back to my students." Prior to becoming a marriage and family therapist, Dr. Oliver worked in marketing and event planning. "I have always volunteered as a counselor for different organizations, and a colleague expressed to me that I might be a good fit for marriage and family therapy, so I researched the field. The rest is history," she said. Dr. Oliver believes that being a working professional offers key benefits to her NCU students. "Being a working professional helps me to stay grounded and connected to the marriage and family therapy field," she said. "It helps me to understand what my students are experiencing, and be alert to any new trends." TRACY OLIVER, PhD
