PROGRAMMATIC ACCREDITATIONS COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION FOR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY EDUCATION (COAMFTE) COAMFTE accreditation indicates that a marriage and family therapy program has met stringent accreditation standards and demonstrates quality in marriage and family therapy education. NCU's MAMFT was the first distance-based program to receive COAMFTE accreditation and our PhD-MFT is the first, and still the only, distance-based doctoral program to receive COAMFTE's coveted programmatic accreditation. Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education, 112 South Alfred St., Alexandria, VA 22314, 703.838.9808, www.coamfte.org. INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION COMMISSION FOR SYSTEMIC THERAPY EDUCATION (IACSTE) Northcentral University's Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and Doctor of Philosophy in Marriage and Family Therapy Programs are also accredited by the International Accreditation Commission for Systemic Therapy Education (IACSTE). Created as a semi-autonomous body under the auspices of the International Family Therapy Association (IFTA), IACSTE focuses on the development and implementation of quality standards for programs around the world that provide systemic therapy education and training. IACSTE, 1800 3rd Ave., Suite 512, Rock Island, IL 61201, 309.786.4491, www.ifta-familytherapy.org For full program disclosures, please visit www.ncu.edu/program-disclosures. Accreditation is a process of institutional peer review performed by objective, not-for-profit external agencies. These agencies evaluate colleges, universities and educational programs for continuous quality. In other words, accreditation is a higher education seal of approval for schools, employers, and most importantly, for students. Students who earn a degree at a regionally accredited institution can be confident that the quality of education, and commitment of an institution to maintain and improve quality meets the standards of the accrediting body. Northcentral University is regionally accredited by WSCUC (WASC Senior College and University Commission), 985 Atlantic Avenue, Suite 100, Alameda, CA 94501, 510.748.9001, wscuc.org. 44 Senior College and University Commission CALIFORNIA BOARD OF BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES (BBS) For students residing in or planning to move to and pursue licensure in California, NCU offers a California Licensure Track MAMFT program. CBBS, 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite S-200, Sacramento, CA 95834, 916.574.7830, www.bbs.ca.gov.
