Students seeking an advanced education in marriage and family therapy can gain the quality education and necessary training experience through our PhD, DMFT, MAMFT or post-graduate certificate programs. Depending on the degree program, there are numerous specializations from which to choose. Students engage one-to-one with their professors, who are experienced therapy practitioners and have earned doctoral degrees. Working with professors can help students acquire the knowledge, skills and values necessary to become a licensable * marriage and family therapist. When students enroll in NCU to earn an advanced degree in marriage and family therapy, they join a community of professionals who are already making a difference around the world. • First distance-based Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT) to gain COAMFTE accreditation • First and only distance-based PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy to gain COAMFTE accreditation • NCU's MAMFT program offers a customized curriculum for each state, based on licensure requirements ** Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education COAMFTE 23 * Exceptions include Kansas and New Hampshire. ** Students are required to confirm the degree plans that will meet their current licensure needs and state requirements. COAMFTE accreditation indicates that a marriage and family therapy program has met stringent accreditation standards and demonstrates quality in marriage and family therapy education. NCU's MAMFT was the first distance-based program to receive COAMFTE accreditation and our PhD-MFT is the first, and still the only, distance-based doctoral program to receive COAMFTE's coveted programmatic accreditation.
