HOW I CAME TO NCU "When I was in graduate school, I took advantage of every opportunity to take online courses – but nearly always immediately regretted my decision, mostly due to the inaccessibility of professors. The first course I taught as an instructor was an online course. I knew immediately what not to do, but I wasn't exactly sure what to do. I ended up absolutely loving the online format and making wonderful connections with students. Since then, I have taught courses both online and in-person, and can honestly say I have made more connections with students through online learning. Because of my positive online experiences, when I graduated with a PhD, my goal was to obtain full-time employment in an online setting. Now here I am at NCU and loving every minute of the journey!" OVERVIEW OF THE DOCTOR OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (DPA) PROGRAM "I am very interested and invested in graduating top-notch students, so I was thrilled when I was asked to be faculty-lead for the DPA program. As with any new program, there are things we will improve over time, but the program is a fantastic opportunity to learn how to link theory to practice for a holistic viewpoint of the field. Public administration is an incredibly applied arena, but not everyone has the knowledge to excel in the field. There is no doubt the DPA program at NCU will help learners build that incredibly important knowledge-base."
