WELCOME TO NCUPA! It is with great excitement that we write this welcome to the Northcentral University Psychological Association (NCUPA)! Although the association formally began in late 2018, this is our inaugural newsletter. As noted in our 2018 announcement, NCUPA has been established to provide student and faculty engagement in psychology around academic resources, research inquiry, and professional activities, specifically to foster quality in scholarship and inspire the development of academic excellence in the student-professional experience. This newsletter provides the opportunity for this quality level of engagement. In these newsletters, you will find a rich exploration of thought and experience related to psychology – perspectives of research, practice, and other areas connected to the academic and professional fields. Your colleagues may be featured in "spotlights"; we will offer quality articles, creative writing in psychology (such as poetry, reflections), book and movie reviews, and updates that are extended from the community; we will feature valuable news from the department of psychology chair as well as upcoming events and important announcements from the university and professional organizations. Please reach out to us with your ideas and submissions – we would appreciate supporting, reviewing, and considering how they might b e integrated into upcoming editions.
