The Commons
This past quarter was busy
with post-launch activity for
The Commons. We reviewed
the feedback we received from
the Updated Commons Feedback
survey, awarded The Commons
Recognition Awards for the first
quarter of 2019, and we developed
and prioritized our future updates
for The Commons platform and
communities. Our work to improve
The Commons will remain
continuous. Since the launch of
the updated The Commons, we
deployed seven distinct updates.
Future updates include launching
new communities. Listen in to hear
more about these updates.
Great Start
The Great Start Roadmap is a
new resource provided to
students to help them in their
academic journey at NCU. This
self-guided roadmap is located
in NCUOne and introduces
students to the various academic
resources and support services
available. It also introduces the
importance of graduate culture,
helps students identify their
unique learning styles, and
provides students insight into
what can be expected during
their academic endeavors at
NCU. Listen to the audio portion
to learn more about the Great
Start Roadmap!
NCUOne Updates
It's been an exciting quarter for
NCUOne updates! A "new and
improved" NCU Contacts widget
was rolled out, completed students
were removed from the Grades
view for faculty, and the pesky
email icon was removed from
the navigation bar.

As your President, I maintain my
commitment to transparency and
ensuring the NCU community remains
informed during times of change,
growth, success, and challenge. I am
also committed to enhancing NCU's
reputation and brand as a leader in
online graduate education.
As many of you are aware, Argosy
University officially announced its closure on March 8,
2019. Without hesitation, the NCU community came
together to offer our support to the impacted students.
We are proud to offer Argosy students the ability to
continue pursuing their academic dreams through
obtaining a graduate degree. NCU warmly welcomes
the new faculty members and students to the NCU
community.
Industry News From the President
David Harpool, JD, PhD, President
The health of NCU overall is excellent. 2019 started
strongly for NCU and we are positioned to finish 2019
with one of the strongest enrollment records in years.
We are, for the first time in several years, 10,000
students strong.
Lastly, we cannot forget to mention the results of the
Gallup survey. According to the Gallup survey results,
our alumni are thriving in their work and within their
communities. The study also shows that NCU alumni
are
putting their education to work and they are likely
to recommend NCU to their family, friends, and
colleagues. I am most excited about the number of
our alumni who are using their degrees to advance
the human condition. We invite you to access the full
report here ncu.edu/Gallup.
Thanks to each one of you for your dedication to our
students and improving the human condition through
education.
