4 Cassandra Lettenberger-Klein, PhD, LMFT Associate Director of MFT Clinical Training, Department of Marriage and Family Sciences Dr. Lettenberger-Klein (Dr. L-K to her students) began teaching at NCU in the master's program as an adjunct professor in 2014. In 2016, she became a full-time research and dissertation faculty in the MFS department and started working with clinical students. In March of this year, she became the Associate Director of MFT Clinical Training. Dr. L-K attended Florida State University to earn her PhD and Purdue University to earn her MS in Human Development with a specialization in MFT. While at both of these universities, and at Mercer University, she gained valuable teaching experience. Dr. L-K studied family communication and at-risk families during her graduate studies. Since graduating, she has expanded her research interests based on her passion for working with NCU students in an online environment. In her current position Dr. L-K is part of a team, along with the Clinical Director and Clinical Coordinator, in preparing MFT students for their upcoming clinical experience and supporting them throughout their clinical courses. She also has her own clinical supervision group and continues to teach in the doctoral content courses. Dr. L-K passionately serves on the SSBS Diversity Committee and voluntarily serves on the SSBS Research Committee. In addition to her work at NCU, Dr. L-K has a small tele-mental health private practice and volunteers as an ad-hoc reviewer for the AAMFT Minority Fellowship Program. Dr. L-K recently moved back to her home state of Ohio and is building a home in a suburb of Cleveland. She lives there with her husband, Daniel; her two-year old twin daughters, Emily and Samantha; and her newborn son, William "Will." Dr. L-K does not have much free time between her career and three children under the age of three, but she remembers a time when she enjoyed reading non-fiction books, attending musical performances, and participating in group fitness classes. Her free time now consists of reading children's books ("No David" is frequently requested), listening to toddler tunes ("Wheels on the Bus" is heard every day), and running after two kids going in opposite directions. She wouldn't have it any other way! POTLIGHT School of FACULTYSP
