10 ANNOUNCEMENT: STUDENT EDITOR POSITION Student Editor Role Under the guidance and direction of the NCUPA leadership, the student editor position is responsible for: • Assisting in identifying topics and themes for newsletter focus in a given quarter • Facilitating and communicating newsletter announcement and recruitment of submissions among the NCU psychology-student community • Reviewing newsletter submissions to ensure content and topic are in alignment to the theme of the newsletter for the given quarter as well as proofing style use (APA, writing mechanics) • Attend identified newsletter meetings (assigned by NCUPA) and those meet as needed with the editor/s over submissions and newsletter planning and development • Being able to commit to at least a full-quarter year (fall, spring, summer, and winter). Qualifications Qualifications for the position include: (a) must be an actively enrolled student in a program with the Department of Psychology (b) have a basic understanding of the mechanics of writing and technical application of style provided by the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association's (6th ed.) (c) have the ability to regularly (schedule pending) attend NCUPA newsletter meetings/editor meetings, and others that might be identified in support of the newsletter processes; and good standing with the NCU academic integrity policy (no violations in the past year).
