9 SUGGESTIONS SHARED NCU RESPONSE Assistance with Tevera would be helpful. Guides for the two functions supervisors complete in Tevera, approving hours and completing evaluations, are included in this issue (see pages 8-10). This is a policy set by our accrediting body, COAMFTE. It states that at least 51 hours of supervision has to be done in person. Additionally, the student has to meet weekly. A standard course map is included in this issue (see page 11). We have interns at a variety of settings including private practices, outpatient agencies, schools, hospitals, in-home, religious institutions, residential treatment facilities (addictions, eating disorders, etc.). Students are required to take Psychopathology, Diagnosis, and Systemic Treatment prior to starting their clinical training experience. Additionally, students must take their MFT theories course and an ethics course. A course on addiction treatment is part of the degree plan for students that are seeking licensure in a state that requires it. Students who are in the General Family Therapy specialization may also opt to take this course. Looking to the future, NCU is in the process of creating curriculum for a Systemic Addictions Treatment specialization. In the month of September, department and clinical administrators met with two providers that offer services pertaining to raw data collection and dissemination. NCU will continue exploring options, but hope to have a resource in place soon. Should allow more tele-supervision as approved supervisors are scarce in some areas. I have found the sequencing of practicum and internships a bit confusing. Maybe getting a course map or something would be helpful. I would love it if the program explored more settings options with students, particularly when it comes to internships as I feel it would be helpful for students to learn about providing services in the home and residential settings along with outpatient private practices. Please make a DSM course mandatory and an addictions treatment course. The only suggestion that I have is to provide students with a better tool for sharing raw data with the supervisors. I often had a hard time hearing the audio clearly and I'm curious if there is an app that could be provided to students for recording sessions that might be more effective.
