My name is Dr. Joel B. Goodin. A product of rural Arkansas, I am a researcher, educator, leader, and innovator. I earned a BS in Psychology (University of Arkansas), an MS and EdS in Counseling and Human Systems, and a PhD in Educational Psychology (Florida State University). My educational and leadership efforts resulted in many honors including induction into Phi Beta Kappa and FSU's Torchbearer's Society. Prior to serving students at Northcentral University, I was honored for my teaching and student engagement at Florida State University, Tallahassee Community College, and Athens State University. I coordinated research and curriculum at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where I was awarded several grants while contributing scholarly articles and presentations. I continued teaching statistics and research at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and taught and mentored online for Walden University's College of Education, where I earned the 2020 Faculty Excellence award. Most recently, I joined Northcentral University full- time, serving on the Diversity Committee and Strategic Planning Committee and coordinating the Educational Psychology internship. I have built a reputation as an expert in technology-enhanced education and training. I serve as a leader in educational expertise, theory, and research-driven applications to pedagogy and curriculum and increasing human connection in online educational environments. I serve my community as a life coach and organizational consultant and assist in caregiver advocacy education, addiction counseling, child advocacy, at-risk populations, and curriculum development to support the Arkansas state government and a national medical organization. My clear record of research contributions in scholarly journals emphasizes issues involving motivation and performance, at-risk populations, health education, human resilience, and innovative education, which include book chapters, conference presentations, program evaluations, instructional design, conference submissions, and textbook reviews. My current passion is optimizing the dissertation experience through research and innovation. FACULTY SPOTLIGHT: Joel B. Goodin, PhD 6 The Psychology Bulletin Technology-Enhanced Education
