Yulia Watters, PhD
Curriculum Director, SSBS
Dear Faculty,
While all faculty teach from a standardized course syllabus, multiple
interactions with the same content and constructive feedback from faculty
and students can help us develop a better understanding of exactly what
we want students to achieve from a particular assignment; and the best
way to phrase it.
Feedback provided by faculty or students about modifying the instructions
in an assignment can prompt an assignment clarification hotfix.
The assignment clarification hotfix process is as follows:
1. An assignment clarification request is submitted by a faculty member
or student.
2. The curriculum director reaches out to additional teaching faculty to
gather further perspective on the suggested change. This is done to
assure as many faculty voices as possible are incorporated into the
curriculum.
3. Based on faculty suggestions, the revisions are documented.
4. The documentation is then approved by the program director or the
department chair.
5. A hotfix with the corrections are submitted and the changes are made
to the live courses.
Important note: Not all revisions can be completed as part of an assignment
clarification hotfix. If the assignment requires a substantial revision, it must
wait until the course is redeveloped to accommodate the changes.
With any questions or suggestion, do not hesitate to reach out using the
Faculty Feedback Form.
Thank you,
Yulia
