9 Yulia Watters, PhD Curriculum Director, SSBS I am in the process of building the SSBS Curriculum and Assessment Hub. The SSBS Curriculum and Assessment Hub will provide quick access to curriculum and assessment materials to all SSBS faculty. It will be located in NCUONe. Modules include: course development documents and procedures, helpful tutorials, overview of the assessment processes and assessment related resources, and documents pertaining to programs and specializations. Module 1: Course Development Documents In this section, we present an overview of the course development documents. Course Development Template (CDT) is the primary document that serves as the template for the course. The same document is used for major revisions or development of a new course. There are also several supplementary documents that we use during course development: • Faculty Teaching Guide: This document presents an overview of the course. It is an orientation for faculty that will be teaching the course and explains the thought process and expectations behind each assignment and chosen resources. The SME also has an opportunity to notify future faculty of any pitfalls (e.g., difficult topics) that they might experience while teaching the course. This document also contains the mapping of the course learning objectives to specific assignments, as well as a heads up about assessment rubrics or grading rubrics. • Grading Rubric Guidelines and Templates: Grading rubrics are developed for most signature assignments. This document outlines general tips for developing a rubric and includes two templates — one for written assignments and one for presentations. The SME will work with the assessment director (AD) to finalize the rubric. Each course will have a seat time of 135-140 hours. The seat time is calculated considering the time that is going to be spent by students while examining the resources and completing assignments. The SME is not required to use the Calculator but can utilize the resource if it is helpful to have an estimate. School UPDATES
