16 Bettina Shapira, PhD Department Chair; Department of Psychology Hi everyone, and happy spring! I hope you had a good start to this new year. I want to start my updates by mentioning the upcoming Commencement Ceremony in May. I am sure you know that the in-person Symposium and Commencement that we plan to hold in Denver was canceled and that we will now hold our second virtual Commencement Ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, May 22 at 10:00 AM MST. I hope you can attend. On April the 5, two new Master of Science programs went live: the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis and the Master of Science in Sports Psychology. From the start, we plan to move the Master of Arts specializations in Applied Behavioral Analysis and Sports Psychology to stand-alone Master of Science programs, but we needed to wait for approval from several constituencies, which we now received. Currently, we are working on revising the PhD specialization in Trauma and Disaster Relief and we are also working on revising the PhD specialization in Mental Health Policy and Practice. For the latter mentioned specialization, we decided to change the name to Social Policy and Behavioral Health Administration, which is reflective of the changes in the field. Another project we are working on is revising the pre-internship process that was housed in fluid review, moving it to JotForm. The internship coordinators, as well as Dr. Brandon Lyons, are spearheading this process. On March 2, the World Teen Mental Health day, Dr. Maria Rodriguez and Dr. Lucas Volini held a webinar on Strategies for Teen Mental Wellness. This webinar is very informative and quite eye opening. I would encourage all of you to watch the webinar. Here is the YouTube link: https://youtu.be/u0z9FVtvrJ4. In looking forward, I want to share two projects that we are working on. Both are still in the initial phase. The first one is a new specialization in forensic psychology, which would be on the master's level. The program lead for forensic psychology, Dr. Lindsay Wright, has put together a task force that is working on this new specialization. This new specialization will focus on threat assessment and management. Students in this specialization will review key components of the body UPDATES Department
