Maria Rodriguez, PhD and Siva Perera, PhD, LMFT
Associate Directors of Facult y Support and Development, SSBS
Both Kathryn and Pam provided some great suggestions on ways to work with
students effectively. Pam has learned some great tips through her own experiences
and from other faculty. For example, video feedback works well when students
tend to repeat the same errors throughout the course. Kathryn provided some tips
from the first monthly Tips and Tricks session for SSBS faculty. She has found that
technology like Evernote or One Note can help her be more effective. Tips and
Tricks is a new space for faculty to share ideas and support each other. We have so
many talented professors with great ideas, and we now have another opportunity
to build our community, share our strengths, and develop our weaknesses. We
hope that you will occasionally pop in one of these sessions and share some time
with your colleagues. As our programs continue to grow, we hire new faculty to
meet the needs of our students. Our SSBS family is growing, and we will continue to
find ways to support each other and promote collaboration.
Do you have an approach, strategy, or idea you think others would find useful or
interesting? Please share! You can send your ideas to Maria (mrodriguez@ncu.
edu) or Siva (sperera@ncu.edu), and we would be happy to include them in an
upcoming faculty newsletter. Thanks!
