About Your NCU Faculty Senate
The mission of the Faculty Senate at Northcentral University is "to work with the
University's administration to represent faculty interests in the areas of program and
curriculum development, institutional and administrative effectiveness, the education
environment for students, the working environment for faculty, and the promotion of
inclusiveness within the University's diverse community
(NCU Faculty Senate Charter, 1.1)."
Senate responsibilities include:
• Meeting monthly to discuss faculty needs
• Attending Academic Affairs Committee meetings
• Consulting with faculty and University leadership as needed on other issues
• The Senate has completed development of a Faculty Senate Best Practices
Handbook. Current and incoming future Senators will have access to this
handbook to ensure continuity of Senate process from year to year.
• The Senate Part-Time Faculty Subcommittee was created to consider the distinct
needs of part-time faculty and has been working on Delphi Award suggestions
for leadership.
• A part-time faculty award for exemplary part-time contributions has
been proposed.
• Senate elections were held in the School of Education, School of Business,
School of Health Sciences, and School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

• UPCOMING EVENTS!
- The annual Faculty Senate Summit is scheduled for June 2021.
- The 2021 Faculty Assembly is scheduled to take place in September 2021
at Faculty Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee.
