As co-chairs of the NCU Psychological Association, we are pleased to bring
you the NCUPA Summer Bulletin. In this issue, we have focused on the theme of
professional development. We recently reached out to the Psychology community
in the Commons to understand how we can support students' development as
professionals and what tips our community can share with us. We are appreciative
of the responses, and we will continue to address the needs of the community in
future bulletins and webinars. In this issue, you will find rich information about
professional development from our co-chair, Dr. Rieder; our student editor, Dr.
Schiavone; alumni navigator, Dr. Gardner; and students Dr. Burch and Jack Girardi,
MA. Dr. Daines shares information about services in the Academic Success Center
(ASC), and Dr. Shapira shares Department updates.
On May 27, we had two alumni from our MS in Health Psychology program discuss
professional development during our webinar titled "Growing Professionally While
in Graduate School: a Discussion with NCU Alumni." Our student editor, Dr. Tatiana
Schiavone, moderated a conversation between Sharon Antoine and Maurice Bush
about how they developed as professionals both during and after their time at
NCU. If you would like to review the video of this webinar, please view it on the
NCUPA Libguide.
The NCUPA is YOUR association, so we invite, request, and hope you will send in
your ideas of how to make the Association more responsive to YOUR interests and
needs. Please also reach out if you are interested in submitting an essay for our
fall bulletin. Our email is ncupa@ncu.edu. Our Facebook page is https://www.
