N O R T H C E N T R A L U N I V E R S I T Y: N C U M F T S U P E R V I S O R C O R N E R 10 REDUCTION IN HOUR REQUIREMENTS Starting January 1, 2022, our MAMFT graduation hour requirements are the following: Therapy Hour Requirements* • 300 total therapy hours • At least 150 of these consist of relational therapy hours • At least 50 of these consist of in-person therapy hours • No more than 50 can be co-therapy hours • At least 50 of these consist of specialization therapy hours (if applicable) Supervision Hour Requirements • 1 hour with local supervisor each week • 52 local individual supervision hours • Weekly individual supervision is required • 12 in-person supervision hours required (once a month is preferred) • 50 observable data supervision hours (live, video, or audio – using a HIPAA compliant tool) Starting February 14, 2022, our PhD-MFT graduation hour requirements are the following: • 300 total clinical hours • 150 relational • 50 in-person • 60 total hours of supervision *We strongly recommend that all students review their state requirements to ensure these modifications will still meet their state licensure requirements. State-based requirements for licensure as a LMFT supersede any program requirements. To our knowledge, the following states require more than the new program requirements. If students need additional information about licensure requirements, they should contact the licensure division of their state. • 500 direct client contact hours: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Wyoming • 400 direct client contact hours: Georgia, Indiana, and Virginia • 250 relational hours: Alabama, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, and Rhode Island • 200 relational hours: Arkansas, Indiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wyoming Dr. Gary W., 2020 Graduate
