In 2009, both NCU's Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and Doctor of
Philosophy in Marriage and Family Therapy were approved by the Arizona State Board
as stand-alone programs in family therapy.

The distinguished body for recognizing marriage and family therapy education in the
state of California pre-approved NCU's MAMFT program as meeting the educational
requirements for licensed marriage and family therapists in California.
