The following outlines the updated categories of AAMFT membership: Student members are individuals in a graduate or post-graduate program and are not working towards licensure or already licensed. Visit www.aamft.org/student.asp to apply. Pre-Clinical Fellow members are those working toward the hours for full licensure as an MFT in the United States or Clinical Fellow requirements under the evaluative track for those outside of the U.S. Applicants outside of the U.S. may apply by completing the application for the Pre-Clinical Fellow Evaluative Track. For those in the U.S., visit www.aamft.org/preclinicalfellow.asp to complete an application. Clinical Fellow members in the U.S. are those who are fully licensed as an MFT. Outside the U.S., Clinical Fellows are those who meet the Clinical Fellow requirements under the evaluative track. Applicants outside of the U.S. may apply by completing the application for the Clinical Fellow Evaluative Track. Pre-Allied Mental Health Professional members in the U.S. are individuals working toward the hours for full licensure, not as an MFT, but in the following different mental health-related field as recognized by AAMFT: clinical psychology, psychiatry, social work, mental health counseling, professional counseling, or psychiatric nursing. To complete an application, visit www.aamft.org/PreAllied.asp. Allied Mental Health Professional members are individuals who are fully licensed not as an MFT but in the following different mental health related field as recognized by AAMFT: clinical psychology, psychiatry, social work, mental health counseling, professional counseling, or psychiatric nursing. Visit www.aamft.org/Allied.asp to apply. Affiliate membership is a non-evaluative category of membership for individuals who are not students nor licensed as a mental health professional and not working towards licensure as a qualified mental health professional. Visit www.aamft.org/affiliate.asp to apply. Individuals must maintain the highest category of membership for which they are eligible.
