AMANDA VELDORALE-GRIFFIN, PhD, LMFT
Adjunct Faculty, Department of Marriage and Family Sciences
Amanda received her PhD in Family and Child Sciences from Florida
State University, her Master's in Family Studies, with a concentration in
Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Kentucky, and her
undergraduate degree in Psychology from The University of South
Florida. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Florida and
has her own private practice where she specializes in working with
children, adolescents, and transgender youth and adults. She has been
with NCU since May 2016 where she has enjoyed teaching a variety of
foundational and later program courses.
Amanda's area of research is on transgender issues, particular transgen-
der parents and their children. She recently authored a book chapter in
LGBTQ Divorce and Relationship Dissolution: Psychological and Legal
Perspectives and Implications for Practice, currently in press. In her
spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids
enjoying the Florida weather!
