Multiple Versions of the Same Course in NCUOne In NCUOne, a new version of the course appears as V2, V3, etc. (e.g., PSY-7011 V2). We are no longer using syllabus IDs to track the new versions (as was done in Course Room). So, when you see a student starting a new version in a course you teach, please be sure to read through the syllabus in the new version closely. It is likely that some assignments and/or course materials have changed. Of course, any students you currently have in that course that started in the previous version will finish in the previous version. But going forward, new students will be starting in the updated version. Therefore, for some time you may have students in both versions of the course. CA Courses in the MFS Department For those of you teaching in the MFT programs, you may have noticed that some MFT courses now have a CA version (e.g., MFT-6105CA). The CA stands for California. Separate versions of some course were created for students seeking licensure in California in order to ease access to the AATBS materials. CA students have different versions of the AATBS materials, so the CA version of courses had to be created to include these materials. All MFT courses that include AATBS materials have a CA version. Other than having a different version of the AATBS materials, the CA and regular version of the course is identical (i.e., the same assignments, readings, etc.). Upcoming Course Revisions Subject matter experts are working with the ID (instructional design) team to design the new doctoral research sequence for the PSY and MFS departments. The new sequences will have fewer research courses, and the syllabi will be designed to be more engaging for students. In the PSY department, we continue to transform courses from 12 weeks to 8 weeks. We are currently working on the General PSY and Health PSY PhD specializations. If you have not been involved in curriculum development and are interested in serving as a SME (subject matter expert) or learning more about the process, please contact me: ywatters@ncu.edu.
