Master of Science in Forensic Psychology (MSPSYFS)
*
NCU's psychology programs are not licensure programs,
and do not prepare an individual to become a licensed
psychology or counseling professional. Students in the MS
in Forensic Psychology program may choose a
non-clinical internship.
MASTER'S PROGRAMS
Forensic psychology provides critical insight into
what motivates human behavior as it applies to
the judicial system. Those educated in forensic
psychology are needed within the legal system
for roles such as case managers, clinical
directors, court liaisons, criminal profiler, jury
consultants and law enforcement advocates.
During this program, you will be immersed in
the psychology of criminality through courses
that examine human behavior and its
expression in legal settings; explore diagnostic
and assessment tools in forensic settings; and
design and synthesize research related to
judicial systems and law enforcement.
In addition to acquiring knowledge through
coursework, at the culmination of our Master of
Science in Forensic Psychology, students have
the option of completing an internship. During
the internship, students complete approximately
100 hours of working in the field. The internship
allows students to demonstrate a wide range of
professional competencies and communication
skills that reflect the knowledge, critical thinking,
sensitivity to ethics and diversity, and
appreciation of research that has been acquired
throughout the program.
Northcentral University's Master of Science in
Forensic Psychology program helps prepare you
to apply psychological principles in forensic
settings and equips you to work within the
justice system, with law enforcement, the courts,
corrections and departments of victim services.
