Happy New Year! It is once again time for Department updates. As I mentioned in my last update, for most of the year, in the Department of Psychology as well as in the Department of Marriage and Family Sciences, we were working on creating engaging curriculum projects. Some of the projects are engaging lectures that will enhance the student experience and support your teaching efforts. Here are some titles and this is just to name a few: • Work -Life Balance • Taking the Stress Out of Online Learning • Introduction to the PhD Work • The Importance of Self-Refection • SPSS for Newbies: How to Conduct a One-Way ANOVA • The Importance of Mindset and How It Impacts You as a Student • What is Health Psychology? • What is I/O Psychology? • What is Forensic Psychology? • What is Child and Adolescent Developmental Psychology? Bettina Shapira, PhD Chair, Department of Psychology Currently we are in the process of developing books or video aminations for the above mentioned lectures. In addition to creating engaging lectures, some of you are working on developing proprietary textbooks that are accompanied by weekly lectures for some of our courses. I know many of you involved in the development of these great curriculum projects. I want to take a moment thank everyone for their hard work, creativity, innovation. THANK YOU! The content development for most of the projects done, however the work is not completed yet. 2018 we will continue to work on some of the projects, by editing the content, creating animated videos, producing story books, and Power Point presentations. These efforts will be the icing cake. Once we complete this last step, we will integrate the content into courses. I have to say can't wait to show you our first video, so stay tuned! Another important endeavor in the Department Psychology in 2017 was the creation of internship courses for our new MS programs. The internship Department Happy New Year!
