NCU Faculty Handbook | Faculty Development | 45 Department of Psychology (DOP) Requirements Department of Psychology faculty must complete two (2) of the following professional development activities for every year of employment. If you are unsure if an activity will meet the requirement, please consult with your Department Chair prior to engaging in it to ensure it will meet the requirement. • Publish a peer-reviewed article or book. • Present a paper at a conference. • Consult (check with your Department Chair in advance). • Engage in a professional-related service. • Present at or participate in a field related professional conference, meeting or workshop. • Participate in diversity training. • Completion of relevant CEUs. • Obtain new professional certification or membership. • Serve as editor or reviewer for a professional journal. Even though only two are required, all presentations and publications should be reported so that Northcentral can track these activities University-wide. Graduate School Requirements Graduate School faculty must complete one (1) of the following professional development activities for every year of employment. Faculty who are unsure if an activity will meet the requirement should consult with the Dean or the Dean's designee prior to engaging in an activity. • Obtain new professional certification. • Publish an article or book. • Present a paper at a conference. • Conduct research-related consultation. • Engage in a professional-related service. • Present at a professional conference, meeting, or workshop. • Assume leadership role in a professional organization. • Completion of continuing education directly relevant to your job duties. • Serve the professional community. Even though only one is required, all presentations and publications should be reported so that Northcentral can track these activities University-wide.
