FACULTY SPOTLIGHT FACULTY SPOTLIGHT SCHOOL OF Dr. Tammi Cooper, PhD, has more than a decade of experience as an educator and leader in higher education. Prior to joining NCU, Dr. Cooper began her career in higher education as a management faculty member and went on to serve in a variety of higher education leadership positions including as a vice president for innovation, associate provost and in various dean roles. Her experience includes leading and designing university-wide assessment processes, strategic planning, online learning, competency-based education (CBE), leading innovative change, faculty leadership, program development, retention and student success efforts. Dr. Cooper has been an active supporter of innovations in higher education, participating in the Educause Breakthrough Models Academy, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's CBE work group and earning a Stanford Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate. Additionally, she was a participant in the WASC Assessment Leadership Academy and served as the accreditation liaison for SACSCOC at a previous institution. In that role, she successfully led the institution through a reaffirmation and several significant substantive changes. She also has a background in quality management and served as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Examiner and in multiple roles with the Quality Texas Foundation. She holds a PhD in Organization and Management from Capella University. Dr. Abigail G. Scheg started as the Associate Dean of Faculty for the School of Business in November 2017. She has worked with undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students for several years across a number of institutions. Dr. Scheg regards working with dissertation students at Northcentral University as some of her most rewarding work as she helps these students not only navigate the dissertation process, but enter their academic community prepared to make their mark as a scholar. Dr. Scheg researches, publishes and conferences in the areas of online pedagogy, educational technology, composition and popular culture. She is the author or editor of multiple texts including Applied Pedagogies: Strategies for Online Writing Instruction and Fostering Effective Student Communication in Online Graduate Courses. DR.
