• The MSW PROGRAM IS NOW OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED!!!!! Drs. Circo, Brocksen and O'Dare (along with amazing support from Dr. Billings) have done such an incredible job of creating and launching this new program. The initial results are as anticipated – VERY EXCITING – as we have more and more interest in the program. Enrollments are growing! At the current pace, we will have somewhere between 300 and 500 students at this time next year (at least that is my prediction). KUDOS to the MSW Team!! • Dr. Mark White successfully led the process of updating the PhDMFT to align with the Version 12 COAMFTE Standards. The changes are extensive, making the new program even better and more compelling than it was. A few of the highlights include: - Two fewer research courses with the research sequence being more streamlined and supportive of student preparation for the dissertation - Fewer credit hours (63 vs. 69) making the program less expensive and up to six months shorter - Three exciting new specializations: Education and Supervision; Culture, Diversity, and Social Justice in a Global Context; and Systemic Leadership - Introduction of more eight-week courses (mostly specialization courses) The DMFS now has over 400 graduates from our programs!! These graduates are making a difference in the lives of individuals, couples and families throughout the world. We have all contributed to this outcome – let us take time to celebrate and look with excitement to the future and what we will continue to do for so many students, their families and the clients they will serve!!!! Thanks to each of you for your commitment to this remarkable enterprise! DEPARTMENT UPDATES School of Social and Behavioral Sciences
