FACULTYSPOTLIGHT Social and Behavioral Sciences FACULTYSPOTLIGHT Social and Behavioral Sciences Dale E. Bertram, PhD, LMFT Part-Time Faculty, Department of Marriage and Family Sciences Dr. Bertram has been a part-time Faculty member at NCU since January 2012. He earned his PhD in Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and has a Master's in General Counseling from the College of Idaho. Prior to that, he earned both a BA and MA in Religion from Eastern New Mexico University. He is an LMFT in Kentucky and Alabama, an LMFT-S in Texas and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Dr. Bertram is also a professor of Marriage and Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University. He is transitioning away from that as he moves back to Kentucky, where he will begin teaching at Campbellsville University in the Spring. He has also taught MFT at Amridge University, the University of Louisville, and Louisville Bible College. Dr. Bertram maintains an online practice in MFT, as he has transitioned to this mode of delivery in recent years. His research interests include the rhetorical aspects of family therapy dialogue, ethics, supervision and technology-assisted professional services. He is a qualitative researcher and has enjoyed mentoring several students throughout the years as they have developed their qualitative research skills. In his personal time, Dr. Bertram loves watching professional and college football. He also enjoys swimming and spending time with his wife, Norma. They have three grown children. Their oldest son, Robert, is married and lives in McKinney, Texas. Their middle child, also named Dale, is a cook at Abilene Christian University, and their youngest, Sarah, married this summer and works as an RN.
