PROFESSIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL extreme adventure which entailed scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, sky diving and bungee jumping. Ronda G. Curtis, Esq., has over 20 years of municipal government law experience. She is chief corporate counsel for the city of Cleveland, Ohio. Curtis has worked for the city of Cleveland since 2005. Prior to that, she served as an assistant director of law and acting law director for the city of East Cleveland, Ohio for 13 years. Curtis graduated from Cuyahoga Community College with an Associate of Applied Business degree from Dyke College with a B.S. degree in paralegal studies, and received her Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She has served as secretary, vice chair, and chair of the government attorney section for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association from 2006 to 2009. As chief corporate counsel, Curtis supervises four practice groups within the law department that provides legal counsel and advice on municipal law matters to various departments of the city. Her career clearly demonstrates her commitment to public service. When not at work, Curtis enjoys spending time with her daughters, the theater, going to community street festivals and Zumba. Scott Whiting is a graduate of Columbia University and has been in the insurance industry for over 33 years. He has worked with Allstate Insurance for 22 years, where he served as a frontline performance expert leader. For the past 11 years he has worked for the Auto Club Group (AAA) where he is the regional director of homeowner claims and director of vendor management for 14 different states. Whiting has over 27 years of management and leadership experience and has received over 12 top leadership awards within his industry. In 2006, Whiting started a production company called Big Dog Media TV, Inc. where he currently serves as operating director and CEO. His production company films, edits, produces, and promotes companies, business and athletes in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Canada. Big Dog Media TV also provides an intern program for up and coming directors, editors and camera operators. Through this intern program, graduates gain practical hands-on experience within the filming industry. In 2010 Big Dog Media TV, Inc. received the Ambassador Award for having an outstanding positive impact in the community. This award is the highest award given by AAA for volunteerism and leadership. A fun fact: Whiting first started in martial arts at the age of eight. He holds black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Jujitsu, and Choi Kwan Do. He, his wife of 31 years (Tina), and two children (Justin, 27, and Olivia, 24) are all Black belts in Choi Kwan Do and have been featured in various newspapers and martial arts magazines.
