Gerald Summers Class of 2020 Doctoral of Business Administration, Criminal Justice "Throughout life it has been my philosophy that learning is a necessity for personal improvement. In 2013, after retiring from my Chief of Police position, I began a career in financial services, requiring additional study. While I found this career challenging, it did not take long for me to recognize that I had lost the passion I once possessed regarding my employment. "After pondering my beliefs for a period of time, I decided to pursue a doctorate in business with a specialization in criminal justice. As I researched possible universities, I knew my desire was to maintain personal flexibility, work independently and be able to communicate directly with my professors. I spoke with individuals whose counsel I respected, and it was during this research that Northcentral University was recommended. I had already begun the application process with another university, but was becoming frustrated by the school's lack of follow through, so I decided to reach out to Northcentral. "From my initial contact I was impressed with the responsiveness of my enrollment advisor at Northcentral. Having received my graduate degree from an international university it was a true delight to work with a knowledgeable individual to guide me through the enrollment process each step of the way. Since entering Northcentral, I have been impressed by the curriculum, the professors' willingness to interact with their students and the one-on-one instruction. The decision to pursue a doctoral degree from Northcentral was a decision I come to appreciate more with each passing day." STUDENT SPOTLIGHT:
