The supervisor approved during the PPP should be the only
person approving client and local supervision
hours; supervisors should only approve hours they directly
supervise.
Although some states count alternative hours towards state
licensure, charting progress notes (or any
other form of indirect hours) does not count as direct client
contact hours toward NCU graduation.
NCU students should not conduct telephone or online therapy
sessions or track these hours towards
graduation.
When students and supervisors review client recordings for a
portion of individual supervision and
discuss the case for the remaining time, the entire hour
counts as raw data.
Does your agency/private practice have an emergency
response plan in place (e.g., physical safety,
mandatory reporting, etc.)? Please discuss this with students,
so that they can be clear on how safety and
security at the site is ensured.
In July 2018, the clinical team issued a revised MAMFT
Clinical Training Handbook. Please save a copy
for your reference and review the policies and procedures.
