14 MEET SOME OF NCU SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES PROFESSORS ROBERT CLEGG PhD, MPH, MCHES Prior to joining NCU, Dr. Robert Clegg was an Associ- ate Professor of Administrative Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at California Health Sciences University (CHSU). Previously, he was the Lead Faculty Area Chair (LFAC)/Certified Faculty Member for the College of Health Sciences/Nursing at the University of Phoenix, Central Valley Campus. Before his academic career, Dr. Clegg spent nearly a decade as the risk manager at a large acute care hospital in Fresno, CA and proudly served in the United States Navy for nearly ten years. Dr. Clegg earned both his Bachelor of Science in Health Science and a Master of Public Health from Fresno State. He earned his Doctorate in Human Services with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration (graduation with distinction) from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. He is also a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc., and is a graduate of Leadership Fresno and the Dale Carnegie Leadership Institute. Philanthropically, Dr. Clegg volunteers much of his time on the board of directors for the American Red Cross – Central Valley Chapter and the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD). He also serves on the Alumni and Volunteer Corporation, Inc., for the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at Fresno State, as well as being the grand council deputy for Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc., at CHSU. Originally from the state of Kansas, Dr. Clegg currently resides in the city of Clovis in Fresno County, California, (a.k.a. Gateway to the Sierras), where he enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson "anytime, anywhere and every- where possible." Depending on the season, he also enjoys snowboarding, boating at one of the area's many lakes, playing softball and trying to improve his short game on the golf course.
