Dr. James Jones Dr. Jones has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, a master's in criminology and criminal justice, and a PhD in public safety specializing in criminal justice. He has worked in law enforcement as a police officer, as well in the juvenile justice system as a corrections officer, probation officer, and director (warden) of two juvenile jails. In addition to his practical experience, Dr. Jones has written and published two criminological textbooks and multiple peer reviewed research articles. His research interests focus on criminology and issues of social justice. When not working, Dr. Jones enjoys traveling, attending sporting events and spending time with his family. FACULTY Shellie Rebman, JD Shellie Rebman currently lives with her husband and two children in Missouri. She obtained her bachelor's degree from Kansas University and her JD form St. Louis University School of Law. She started her legal career as an assistant attorney general in Missouri in civil rights litigation and criminal appeals. From there, she took a position as an assistant prosecutor, prosecuting felony crimes. She then took a position with the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole as special clemency counsel and acted in that capacity for approximately 20 years. She currently has her own law firm and practices personal injury, medical malpractice, workers' compensation, contract law and some criminal defense. Over the last fifteen years, she has taught graduate- level, legal and ethical courses online for several universities. At this juncture in her career, she has decided to focus on sharing her academic and professional knowledge with others in an engaged, successful learning community as a full-time professor with NCU.
