Dr. John Frame Dr. Frame is an associate director of faculty support and development in the School of Business. His area of academic research relates to public administration, namely nonprofit organizations and faith- based organizations. He's currently researching local faith-based organizations and communities that have anti-trafficking projects in so called "developing countries." Very early in his career, Dr. Frame served in county government in Michigan, coordinating a program that addressed a concern from hundreds of residents (a severe gypsy moth infestation). He then served as a contract analyst in the county's mental health department. He has also served two UN agencies as a consultant. Dr. Frame's book, "Homeless at Harvard: Finding Faith and Friendship on the Streets of Harvard Square," published in 2013, explores what life is like on the streets outside the gates of the world's richest university. Dr. Frame's hobbies include visiting outdoor markets in other countries, cooking vegetarian foods, and going to fitness classes at the gym. He has lived in four countries on three continents, and he currently lives in London, England. He can write in both American and British English, and often attempts speaking in a British accent. He works slowly at improving his Turkish. Dr. Carissa Smock Dr. Smock is an assistant professor at Northcentral University chairing healthcare administration dissertations and teaching healthcare administration courses. She started her career in concert promotions and marketing and enjoyed bringing music to her community and discovering new bands. After a few years, her partnership with the Cleveland Marathon shifted her interest from booking bands for mile markers to getting her community more active – believing that activity improves all health outcomes (and the fact that her contact registered her for the half marathon). She then went back school to learn how to help link community resources, such as parks and trails, to primary care to increase physical activity. She now partners with Cleveland Metroparks and MetroHealth to do just that. Dr. Smock has developed a love for teaching along the way due to the excellent mentorship and opportunities she received at Kent State University, including partnerships with Cleveland Clinic. She went on to get her postdoc at Case Western Reserve and help students achieve their goals and interests. WHO'S WHO: MEET OUR
