FACULTY UPDATES • Melody Rawlings, EdD, presented "Transitioning to Life in America" at the Global Transitions Virtual Summit for Chinese International Students. • Namhee Kim, PhD, and two colleagues, published "Career Chance Experience of Korean Women Workers" in Career Development International, pages 74-90. • Kimberly Scott, DBA, is now a reviewer for the Asia Pacific Journal of Management and Education (APJME). She also participated as a reviewer in the upcoming 79th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, being held in Boston, Massachusetts, Aug. 9 -13, 2019. • Leila Sopko, PhD, served as a reviewer for the Academy of Management Peer Reviewed Journal 2019 Conference. • Joe DiRenzo, PhD, and a colleague published "Coast Guard Year in Review" for the Naval Institute's magazine PROCEEDINGS, pages 90 - 95. PROCEEDINGS is the premier publication for maritime services and has been in perpetual circulation since 1874. " FACULTY RESEARCH • Tammi Cooper, PhD, Brian Allen, DBA, Richard C. Thompson, PhD, and Chad Sines, DBA, are currently investigating faculty- perceived value of program assessment. • Gary White, PhD, is preparing for a forthcoming book by conducting an examination of Biblically-based marketing principles which can be used to inform marketing decision-making systems and programs. • Paul Markham, DBA, is serving as lead principal investigator examining artificial intelligence and the creation of cardiac digital twins: a clinical observational data analysis of improving physician decision making and patient care in global intensive care units. Dr. Markham is working in conjunction with researchers at UPMC, Columbia NYP, Duke University, Yale University, Northwell Health in the U.S., and IKEM in the Czech Republic. • Jennifer Biddle, PhD, will be conducting research on the impact of medications to treat substance-use within incarceration and upon re-entry as it related to reducing recidivism in Pennsylvania. – D.
