What do you like to do outside of therapy and supervision? Outside of therapy and supervision, my wife and I enjoy shag dancing (the state dance of South Carolina), spending time with our grandchildren (we are taking all three girls, ages 16, 14, and 12, on a spring break cruise in April), outings to local and college theater productions, attending college football games, and traveling whenever we can. I personally am very interested in old cars but, unfortunately, financially, I have been unable to pursue that hobby very far. However, I do enjoy driving fast cars and enjoy my 2010 Mustang GT convertible. You have interns embed the theory/model within their case notes. What growth/outcomes do you see from having students write case notes in this way? I ask them to identify in the note what model they are using and demonstrate same. Our note format has a section for that. I believe this allows supervisees to practice different therapy models and to become more aware of family situations and which particular therapy model will work best. Also, when they move to a different model, I ask them to explain what caused them to change and how they felt about the results. I also discuss with them, if given the same situation again, what, if anything they would do differently and why. Do you, a colleague, or a recent graduate need Marriage and Family Therapist interns to supervise? Do you know of anyone working towards AAMFT- Approved or State-Approved Supervisor status?
