Linnea Swanson, PhD Adjunct Faculty, Department of Marriage and Family Sciences Dr. Linnea Swanson began teaching at NCU as an adjunct professor in 2019 and just had her one-year anniversary! She is a graduate of Argosy University's Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology programs. She first taught a class in psychopathology at the encouragement of one of her professors and has continued to enjoy teaching psychopathology through a systemic lens. She also enjoys teaching theoretical courses, systemic assessment, and internship seminar. Before joining NCU, Linnea was the Director of Training at Argosy University/Twin Cities in the Doctoral and Master's programs in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a supervisor of mental health services in an urban school-based clinic. She has had a wide range of clinical experiences including school-based mental health with adolescents, in-home family therapy, children's mental health, county mental health, and is currently in private practice where she works primarily with marginalized populations and provides clinical supervision. Linnea has a particular interest in working with adult Korean adoptees, and interracial and polyamorous couples. Linnea is a true Midwesterner, living her entire life in Minnesota. She has a blended family and is in the midst of multiple family stages, having recently launched her step-daughter (22), her first born (16) studying abroad in Germany for the past year, and having her youngest daughter (6) at home with her and her husband, John. In her free time, Linnea enjoys training in mixed martial arts, photography, and volunteering at her daughter's Korean Immersion school. 3 Faculty SPOTLIGHT
