4 STANDING COMMITTEES & UPDATES Communications Committee: Supports the Faculty Senate in communications processes to maintain open, transparent, honest communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, including Faculty at large and NCU Leadership. Members: Michelle Ackerman, Robert Clegg, Sandra Fonseca-Lind, Kristi Harrison, Gabriele Suboch • Committee Updates: The Communications Committee's recent work has focused on finalizing the Faculty Senate Issue Submission Process, updating the Senate's space in The Commons to include Senate meeting agendas and minutes, and preparing this quarterly Faculty Senate Bulletin. Technology Committee: Serves as the voice of the Faculty to NCU Leadership in terms of technology needs to ensure quality of instruction and performance improvement. Reports Faculty needs related to technology (LMS platform, hardware, software, communications, etc.) to the Faculty Senate and NCU. Members: Marie Bakari, David Benders, Sandra Fonseca-Lind, Cary Gillenwater • Committee Updates: This committee continues its work on developing possible solutions to problems brought to our attention related to NCU's LMS platform, hardware, software, and communications. The committee tested Yammer (a Microsoft Exchange app); however, these efforts were discontinued after the recent updates to Exchange. We continue to gather information about available tools to determine how each might solve any existing problems. Curriculum and Teaching Committee: Represents Faculty from all schools to collect and report issues, feedback, or recommendations for curriculum improvement to the Senate. Also reports to Faculty Senate any issues or concerns related to our schools' curriculum contents or development. Members: Larry Goins, Sandra Fonseca-Lind, Jacqueline Rogers • Committee Updates: Curriculum and Teaching Committee evaluates any curriculum instructional issues presented to faculty senate consideration and submits recommendations for improvement. The committee presented the recently instituted Faculty Issue Review Process. Wellbeing Committee: Serves as liaison between NCU faculty and leadership to ensure the condition of NCU's faculty body remains one of holistic health and positive welfare. Members: Richard Dinneen, Stephanie Menefee, Donna Rice • Committee Updates: The Wellbeing Committee's efforts this quarter focused on faculty workload and substitute planning for PTO.
