Shanderson was a panelist on
"Creating Rigor and Student Engagement
for Remote Learning" at the Association
of University Programs in Health
Administration annual meeting.
Associate Professor Carissa Smock
presented at the 2020 SHIFT Summit.
SHIFT is a nonprofit dedicated to the
advancement of nature as a social
determinant of health. Dr. Smock's
research poster focused on changes in
nature-based physical activity and stress
levels before and during the pandemic.
Professor Robin Butler hosted a
session at the International Academy of
Business's e-conference on education for
global prosperity. Their track focused on
COVID-19, marginalized communities, and
economic disparity issues. Papers will be
forthcoming in the International Academy
of Business Review.
SERVICE
Assistant Professor Quincey Daniels
has been active in conversations about
racism in his community. This October, he
presented a talk on the structural framework
of racism in the La Crosse, Wis. area for the
Greater La Crosse Area Diversity Council,
and virtual diversity training for Galesville
- Ettrick - Trempealeau High School in
Galesville, Wis.
SSBS Associate Dean Peter Bradley
was invited to participate in the
Association of Marriage and Family
Therapy Regulatory Boards (national
licensure board for marriage and family
therapists) Exam Construction Committee,
helping to develop new test questions and
items for the national MFT licensure exam.
IRB Coordinator Jenelle Dembsey
has been named president of the Online
Writing Centers Association.
Lisa Hutton, Dean of JFK School of
Law at NCU, was reelected to the Board
of Directors of AAFPE , the American
Association for Paralegal Education.

NCU student Aimee Jareugui-Cruz received the
Bugbee Falk Book Award. The Association of University
Programs in Health Administration selected NCU for the
award, and faculty in the School of Health Sciences
selected Aimee as the student recipient. She received
ten books by respected authors in the field to start her
professional library.
