CAVO Virtual Workplace Conference
The Center for the Advancement of Virtual Organizations will tentatively host its next virtual
conference in early June. Stay tuned for more info.
Amplifying Voices in Discourse (AVID)
Inspired by the NCU Book Club, this new initiative serves as a catalyst for building community
by engaging with crucial social issues. AVID invites the NCU community to engage with a
chosen text, film, or other media through discussion and micro-conference presentations
Heart Berries: A Memoir by Terese Marie Mailhot is the first resource for discussion. The
book discussions will be held in January, followed by presentations in the spring.
NCU Gathering in Mexico POSTPONED
The Gathering was postponed due to COVID-19. More information about a revised date will
be shared as soon as possible.
Dissertation Boot Camps and Dissertation Completion
Pathway Intensives
The schedule for 2021 boot camps and DCP intensives has been finalized. If you live in any
of the areas listed below and would like to participate, please reach out to James Rogers or
Katja Walton. As we continue to deal with uncertainty over live events, we've also created
a free, virtual Dissertation Preparedness Series that is specific to our five-chapter dissertation
process. The schedule for the next Dissertation Preparedness Series is still in development.

Commencement and Faculty Symposium
We hope to hold these events in person, as local gathering guidelines allow. We'll share
more information over the next few months about faculty and staff participation, and you
can visit the Commencement website. Student communication and registration will begin
in January 2021.
