8 After recently finishing up my first course, I feel the NCU experience has been stellar. Although just scratching the surface, enlightenment amazes me in a profound way, and I am very grateful to have the opportunity, university resources, and support to continue my formal education at this stage in life and career. Thanks, NCU, for making this all possible! Also, I owe AFA Keilani Clark a big shoutout for helping me to get situated administratively and keeping me on track. - Drew Bouloy, PhD-TIM Student Faculty and advisor support are necessary enough under normal circumstances for persistence in attainment of higher educational degrees. I found that NCU was able to provide this and more [last spring]. In dealing with the pandemic, they were not just transactional - they were and remain transformational. They have accomplished this simply because online education is all they do, 100% of the time. Thus, they were positioned to do business as usual in the face of this global catastrophe. - Thomas Holtz, DBA – Human Resources Student, in Transnational Journal of Business, Nov. 2020 (page 39) Imagine losing power, internet, water, and food on the first day of your course. Two days later, you wake up in the morning to find out that your living room had been covered in water from broken pipes. The last winter storm that hit Texas affected me terribly, and, at first, I thought of ending the program because I was overwhelmed. However, when I contacted my professor, Dr. Kohlman, she encouraged me, promised to work with me, and, if needed, will give me time to catch up. This was, like, a huge relief. I finally made it through the first week successfully. - Reginald Joseph, PhD – Psychology Student I wanted to give a huge applause to the CTL Team. I was thrilled upon completing my first course successfully. I give 1K credits to CTL for the webinars. I felt extremely prepared in navigating the school resources, making each week's assignment stress-free. Knowing where to obtain articles and materials paved the way. Thanks, CTL team!! - Belinda Bugett, DBA – Organizational Leadership Student Thank you, NCU, for your thoughtfulness. [After the winter storms in Texas], I received an email from the dean to let me know what I can do if the power outages affected my ability to turn in an assignment. Then, yesterday, my advisor Aaron Repasky called to check on me. Said he was calling several. Thank you all for taking such good care of us during this struggle. - Wendy Rodgers, DBA – Organizational Leadership Student We had a terrible storm last summer that took out our electricity and Internet for two weeks. My professors were absolutely wonderful in working with me during that time. One of my professors said that she didn't want me in a position where I had to rush my assignments and subsequently endure a lot of stress. She said that she wanted me to enjoy learning. That is such a testament to the supportive culture and individualized attentiveness at NCU. - Shannon Allen, PhD – Psychology Student " " " " " " Faculty and Staff APPRECIATION CORNER NCU HAPPENINGS | APRIL 2021 | ACCREDITATION ACHIEVEMENTS EDITION
