Kathryn Klack-Powell, PhD, LMFT Full-Time Facult y, Department of Marriage and Family Sciences I am Kathryn Klack-Powell, and I've been part of the full-time faculty in Marriage and Family Sciences at Northcentral for over three years. I am one of the co- chairs in the Faculty Development Committee. This group of faculty members meets monthly and discusses things we can do to help with being a faculty member at NCU. During the past few months, we have had some great discussions in MFT Clinical Faculty Meetings and Dean Billings' Faculty Focus Meeting where faculty have gotten the chance to share some of their best practices in teaching online, teaching through engagement, and teaching at NCU. The Faculty Development Committee would like to keep this trend going with "Tips and Tricks on the 10th at 10:00." This will be a regularly scheduled monthly meeting for forty-five minutes where various faculty can present some of the technology or methods of organization that they have learned or created to help them with their jobs. Our first webinar was held on March 10th, 2021 and Jill Blackwell, co-chair of the Faculty Development Committee from Psychology, and I presented some of our Tips and Tricks. Jill had some great ideas about quick ways to be camera- ready for Zoom calls. She talked about lighting tricks and having a scarf handy to always look together. I shared some of the technology and software that can help organize frequently given feedback, like One Note or Evernote. I also shared another excellent technology fix of using a smart clipboard, like Clipboard Manager, to help when you are filling out a jotform and need to cut and paste different information from one place to another. I would love to hear from faculty about tips or tricks that they have developed teaching, teaching online, or specific to teaching at NCU. These could be ways of engaging with students, methods of keeping yourself organized or motivated with grading, or software that makes frequent tasks easier. Alternatively, perhaps you have the opposite issue. If you have a sticking point that makes your week more challenging or a complex student interaction you would like some help with, you could email me or one of the faculty coaches Maria Rodriguez or Siva Perera, and Teaching TIPS
