3 Dear Colleagues, I hope this note finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. In our own ways, we have all experienced an incredibly deep and profound year. I want to take a moment to thank everyone for continuing to serve our students through it all. Thank you for staying present and engaged while also learning to adapt to new responsibilities and navigating your own path forward in uncertain times. You are appreciated beyond measure. In our recent eight-year reaffirmation of accreditation, the NCU body was commended for our best practices and noted as a model for other institutions. We were also commended for our "participatory, transparent, and collaborative institutional culture." This observation on the part of our accreditors speaks volumes to our continued engagement at the faculty level. Recognizing our investment is impactful, as is our well-being. The faculty Senate has been working closely with senior leadership to advance both the full- and part-time faculty experience. As we continue to strengthen the relationship between Faculty Senate and senior leadership, it is important we keep the lines of communication with each other open. Please continue to share your ideas, thoughts, concerns, and cares with a Faculty Senate Representative or through the anonymous Faculty Feedback Form. As our futures become more certain and our connections toward advancing the human condition deepen, I am reminded of this quote from Rosa Parks: "You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right." I look forward to engaging together in this next period of growth as we continue to enhance our participatory, transparent, and collaborative culture. Stay well, Stephanie Menefee, PhD Faculty Senate Chair FROM THE CHAIR Message
