DEPARTMENT UPDATES Greetings. I hope you are enjoying the late spring and the start of summer! We just celebrated the first commencement of this year. Because of the current COVID-19-related restrictions, we celebrated commencement virtually again. As always, commencement is a great time to celebrate your achievements and see friends and family celebrating with you. We will be celebrating a second commencement later this year in September in Nashville, Tennessee. It is my great hope that this will be an in-person commencement. On April 5, two new Master of Science programs went live: the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis and the Master of Science in Sports Psychology. We are now in the process of transitioning the students who were in the previous Master of Arts specializations and who wanted to switch to the Master of Science programs. We are doing this move with the support of the Office of the Registrar and the Psychology Advisement Team. I want to express my appreciation for the work and support of both teams! In the upcoming catalog release, which is in July of this year, we will be introducing the new PhD, Social Policy and Behavioral Health Administration specialization, which will take the place of the current specialization in Mental Health Policy and Practice. The changes and revisions are very exciting! The next announcement is with great excitement. We are in the process of hiring a Program Director for the new clinical mental health counseling program. We have some very qualified candidates for the position, and I hope that we make an offer soon. So, please stay tuned! I hope you will enjoy the summer! Let's make it a great 2021!
