Recommendations and Process Updates These findings were presented to the SSBS administrative team as well as to the SSBS Assessment and Curriculum Committee. The following recommendations and changes were discussed: • Clearly define the roles of everyone collaborating on the CD team. SMEs are context experts, IDs are project managers. • Define the grievance process and encourage SMEs to be more vocal when frustrated. • Personalize and explain load reductions. Some faculty may want a larger load reduction on the front end. Ensure faculty understand how the load reduction will work. • The curriculum director will develop process videos explaining the CD process for faculty to view when they are being recruited. • In Psychology, the program lead will be involved on the CD team, just as the program directors are involved in MFS. • Share any student's feedback on existing courses using post-course survey results. The findings were also presented to the ID team at National Education Partners. The following recommendations and changes were also discussed: • NEP will ensure that up-to-date documents are provided to SMEs. • NEP will remove the formatting from the template to make the process easier. • SMEs were encouraged to handle more formatting issues, allowing SMEs to focus more on creativity and scaffolding. • Individualize processes tailored to SME experience and needs. • Share evidence-based practices underlying the CD process. • Get to know the IDs better through icebreakers. We are grateful for all of the faculty who participated in the focus groups for taking time to share their experiences and insights. We are also grateful to the SSBS administrative team and the NEP instructional team. 11
