We will be celebrating a second commencement later this year in September
in Nashville, Tennessee. It is my great hope that this will be an in-person
commencement. In addition, the current plan is to hold a symposium just before the
commencement. We also hope that this will be in-person. I cannot wait to see you
in Nashville.
As I mentioned in the previous posting, on April 5, two new Master of Science
programs went live: the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis and the
Master of Science in Sports Psychology. We are now in the process of moving
students who were in the previous Master of Arts specializations and who wanted
to switch to the Master of Science programs. We are doing this move with the
support of the registrar and the entire psychology advisement team. Please join me
in thanking both teams!
In the upcoming catalog release, which is in July of this year, we will be introducing
the new PhD Social Policy and Behavioral Health Administration specialization,
which will take the place of the current Mental Health Policy and Practice
specialization. I am very excited about the revisions and changes.
The next announcement is with great excitement. We are in the process of hiring a
Program Director for the new clinical mental health counseling program. We have
some very qualified candidates for the position, and I hope that we make an offer
soon. So, please stay tuned!
I wanted to let you know how grateful I am for all you do to support your students,
the programs, and the psychology department. Thank you, and enjoy the summer!
