7 Kristyn Graham, PhD Assistant Part-Time Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Psychology Kerri L. Hall, PhD Assistant Part-time Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Marriage and Family Sciences Hello, my name is Kristyn Graham. As part of the initial postdoctoral fellowship cohort for the NCU psychology department, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was so excited about the opportunity, I inadvertently applied for it twice. I finished my PhD through NCU in 2021 with the long-term goal of teaching at the college level, and this seemed like a great way to break into the academic world with a platform and university I had some knowledge of. I wasn't wrong. I have enjoyed the teaching experience, which is awesome in and of itself, but learning my chosen future career is not only doable, but fun is even better. Currently, I own an outpatient treatment agency serving clients with substance use and mental health disorders. I have been working as a behavioral health provider for more than 13 years. This was not my chosen path but one I fell into and, as it turns out, the one I was supposed to be on. I have been chosen to be one of the speakers at the NAADAC National Conference in October held in Indianapolis. The topic I proposed is patient retention. As getting into speaking was one of my postdoc goals, I'm pretty excited on multiple fronts. I live in Boise, Idaho with my two teenage daughters, my husband, and our small zoo that includes a saltwater fish tank, two dogs, three lizards, and a snake. I am in the process of starting a part-time position as a Psychometric Rater for a clinical trial company which I'm very excited about. As it turns out, two of my favorite activities are learning and working. In my leftover time, I collect art supplies that I'm sure I'm going to use someday, read, laugh with my girls, and sleep. Kerri Hall is one of the three inaugural Postdoctoral Fellows in the Department of Marriage and Family Sciences and a proud graduate of Northcentral University! She earned her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a specialization in Medical Family Therapy. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Iota Delta Kappa Honor Society, Golden Key Honor Society, and the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success.
