As one of the first postdoctoral fellows in the SBSS and teaching on this platform,
she understands the value of Teaching Through Engagement for students' success.
Getting the chance to meet her students from across the country and helping them
navigate their time in the course has been rewarding.
Dr. Yemi plays with her chaotic dogs, travels, listens to podcasts, and watches
Marvel movies on her off time. She is always ready to enthusiastically welcome
and encourage the next generation of therapists to cultivate their clinical skills
and become advocates in their respected fields.

Thank you, Cate, for sharing your thoughts on Teaching through Engagement.
Our pedagogy encourages us to hone our students' strengths, including their life
experience. This issue provided an opportunity to focus on several of our postdocs
in addition to our full-time and part-time faculty. Once again, SSBS paved the way
at NCU and created a successful postdoc experience supervised by Mindi and
Mark. We appreciate the work our postdocs did with students and hope they were
also able to learn from us.
Do you have an approach, strategy, or idea you think others would find useful or
interesting? Please share! You can send your ideas to Maria (mrodriguez@ncu.edu)
or Siva (sperera@ncu.edu) and we would be happy to include them in an upcoming
faculty newsletter. Thanks!
