8 8 Dr Yulia Watters, LMFT Director of Curriculum Development, SSBS It was my incredible honor and pleasure to serve as a Director of Curriculum Development for both Marriage and Family Therapy and Psychology Departments. Not only did we accomplish incredible things, but I was fortunate to meet the most talented and dedicated people who I hope will turn into life-long friendships. When I started in my role as a School Director of Curriculum, my main goal was to contribute to a collaborative, inspiring environment where each faculty had the opportunity to participate in the creation of the most innovative, cutting edge, and engaging courses. Looking back, I can say that these goals were achieved: faculty were passionate and devoted to the course we developed across programs and departments, task forces were created to capitalize on the collective knowledge of our talented faculty to revise and advance programs and courses, and unique content was created by faculty from both Departments. The fact that we were able to develop, improve, and launch all the programs we did was extraordinary, which included: • Master's in Social Work • Master's in Applied Behavioral Analysis • Master's in Sport Psychology • Transformation of the master's level Specializations in Psychology into a stand-alone Master of Science Program • Revision of doctoral-level Specializations in Psychology • Renewal of the COAMFTE accreditation in PhD of Marriage and Family Therapy • Revision of the Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy • Development of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. As as if that was not enough, we also streamlined curriculum and assessment processes by implementing a more efficient governance structure. We added a School-level Curriculum and Assessment Committee and combined the University- level Curriculum and Assessment Committees to UACC (University Assessment and Curriculum Committee). These modifications alleviated many of the bottlenecks that disrupted the curriculum development process in the past and significantly enriched stakeholders throughout the University (e.g., Registrar, Learning and Development, Instructional Design). All of these accomplishments were truly a team effort, and I would be remiss not to acknowledge all of the ardent and enthusiastic contributions of the subject matter experts and dedicated faculty serving on our committees and engaging in the conversations that created the amazing content that our students have come to expect. Thank you for allowing me to learn from your expertise and for making online learning so life-altering for our students.
