Greetings! This year has, so far, been a very exciting one and we will finish it very well. Thanks to
each of you!
• Lisa Kelledy (MAMFT program director) has been working tirelessly, with some help from other
team members, to write the self-study for the reaccreditation of the MAMFT. Although it is a
reaccreditation, because COAMFTE has updated to the version 12 standards, it is almost like writing
an initial accreditation self-study. It will be submitted this month and we anticipate a site visit
sometime in April or May, 2017. Thanks to Lisa for her dedicated effort to accomplish this
challenging task!
• We are working toward launching the following new offerings in the next six to 12 months:
o Post-bachelor's certificates in LGBTQ Couple and Family Therapy, Military Family
Therapy, Medical Family Therapy, Couples Therapy, Child and Adolescent Family Therapy.
o Addictions Assessment and Treatment – this will be both a specialization that can be
combined with the MAMFT degree or can be taken as a stand-alone post-bachelor's certifi
cate. It will be written so that students who complete it will be eligible for licensure or
certification as addictions counselors.
o Pastoral/Spiritual Counseling (still working on a final name – share any ideas you might
have) – this will be a specialization option with the MAMFT.
o Trauma-Informed Assessment and Treatment – this will be a specialization option with the
MAMFT.
