TRACY OLIVER, PHD
Full-Time Faculty, Department of Marriage and Family Sciences
It's no surprise that Tracy Oliver, with her impressive educational pedigree, ended up teaching in
academia. Tracy received her doctorate and master's degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy from
Nova Southeastern University, as well as MBA. She holds an undergraduate degree in
merchandising from Florida State University.
Tracy's dissertation involved research around the functions of
multigenerational family secrets. Her research interests include the
exploration of family patterns and family curses. She is a licensed
marriage and family therapist in Florida, and provides counseling
for individuals, couples, and families.
Tracy joined the NCU community in early 2016 as an
adjunct faculty member, and recently converted to full-time
faculty. She teaches courses in Foundations and facilitates
supervision for clinical groups. She was recently awarded
the AAMFT Minority Supervision Stipend Award. Tracy
enjoys spending time with her family and friends. This
past May, she and her husband welcomed a second child,
daughter Chloe. Her big brother Micah is quite protective.
